WICHITA, Kansas – Intrust Bank Arena announced a new security policy that is being implemented to increase the level of safety provided to its patrons and employees.

The security technique known as wanding is being instituted to ensure that prohibited items such as weapons do not enter the facility.

The arena will start the process of wanding and bag searching at the Taylor Swift concert on Tuesday, August 6.

Weapons such as guns and knives, along with bags, will not be permitted into the building.

“The security of our guests who attend events at Intrust Bank Arena as well as our employees is of the utmost importance to us,” said A.J. Boleski, Intrust Arena General Manager. “It is with their safety in mind that we have made the decision to implement additional security policies at our facility.”

Arena officials highly encourage early arrivals to upcoming events.

Doors for the Taylor Swift concert August 6 will open at approximately 5:30 p.m. and doors for the Rascal Flatts concert August 9 will open at approximately 6:30 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
