HAYS, Kansas – Hays residents are getting tired of the stink left by a train derailment two weeks ago.

A Union Pacific Train crashed into a parked train causing a fire and cars to go off of the tracks.

One of the cars was full of chicken feed which is now just sitting on the ground rotting.

It’s causing a nasty odor.

Today, Union Pacific cleaned up some of the grain but some of it is still there.

A railroad spokesperson says crews will continue working through the weekend.
