WICHITA, Kansas – Sedgwick County wants to warn residents there has been a recent up-tick in burglaries.

Take a look at the map. The dots show all the places hit in the last week.

It includes everything from businesses to homes, garages and cars.

Actually, the car break-ins are something the sheriff’s office sees almost weekly.

“Even if it’s locked, it’s very easy to break a window. As a matter of fact, one of our cases was witnessed, and we couldn’t, the witness couldn’t do anything to stop it because of how quickly it had occurred. It takes no time at all to break a window, grab the contents they can already see and leave,” said Captain Mike Stover, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office is investigating all the burglaries but, so far, doesn’t think they’re all connected.
