WICHITA, Kansas — A man who wanted to help a friend with her car ended up stabbed and in the hospital early Tuesday morning.
The 27-year-old man told police he went to the 2900 block of E. Evans to help a female friend repair a car.
Police say another man at that address became upset and the two men argued.
The confrontation became violent.
“A 40- to 50-year-old male took a knife and stabbed our victim in the right abdomen,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.
The 27-year-old victim drove himself to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis just before 6 a.m. He was in serious condition.
Police are still looking for the older man in connection with the stabbing.
The victim may also be in trouble with police.
“When he got to the hospital, it was found our victim also had some methamphetamine on him as well as two glass pipes to smoke it,” said Nolte.
