WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita Wingnuts had its 13-game winning streak  snapped in a 6 to 5 defeat at the hands of the Lincoln Saltdogs Friday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Wichita put up a tremendous fight to get back into the contest.

Trailing 5 to nothing in the bottom of the eighth inning, John Rodriguez blasted a two-run homer to center field to cut the Lincoln lead to 5 to 2.

After the Saltdogs picked up an insurance run in the top of the ninth, Rodriguez repeated the feat with a three-run home run to make the score 6 to 5.

Junior Guerra allowed four earned runs over seven hits with three walks to take the loss.

The two teams continue the series Saturday night.
