Value Place breaks ground on new downtown apartments

WICHITA, Kansas – New apartments are on the way for downtown Wichita.

Officials broke ground this morning on the new Value Place Apartment complex near the banks of the Arkansas River.

The short-term stay complex will be built on West Maple near the Wichita Ice Center.

They will be comprised of two buildings and 133 units.

The one, two and three-bedroom units will be move-in ready next spring.

Rates, although not yet set, are projected to begin at about $900 a month.

All utilities, including cable TV and Wi-Fi, will be included in the rent.

Value Place is investing $10 million to build the apartments on land leased from the City of Wichita.
