Power restored to 123,000 in So. California

SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego Gas & Electric has restored power to most of the 123,000 customers hit by an overnight outage in San Diego and Orange counties.

A utility outage map shows only about 200 customers still without electricity Friday morning.

SDG&E says the blackout began at just after 11:40 p.m. on Thursday. Power was mostly restored by 3 a.m. Friday.

San Diego Gas & Electric spokeswoman Jennifer Ramp told KNBC-TV (http://bit.ly/13ECZkb ) that the outage affected the company’s entire south Orange County customer base as well as areas of Camp Pendleton and La Mesa in San Diego County.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.
