WICHITA, Kansas – Investigators have recovered one shotgun that was taken from a sheriff’s vehicle and arrested three men for burglary.

It happened back on June 29th at the Sedgwick County Fleet Maintenance parking lot in the 1000 block of West Stillwell.

Other items recovered included a sheriff coat, ammunition, flashlights and handcuffs.

Investigators are still working to recover two guns.

“I did not give addresses, locations, where this took place, I did not give names, because this is still an ongoing investigation, and I do not want to hamper investigators efforts to try to recover those two remaining firearms,” said Lt. Dave Mattingley, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

The three men were also booked for possession of a firearm by a felon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
