WICHITA, Kansas – - As Wichita Wingnuts’ all-time wins leader, Ryan Hinson, left for the Atlanta Braves organization, the Wichita Wingnuts had to look for a starting pitcher in Thursday’s night game against the Kansas City T-Bones.
Manager Kevin Hooper gave Ryan Scols the start. Scols allowed one hit in five innings of work. Daniel Bennett, Nick Walters, Lincoln Holdzkom and Josh Dew threw the final four innings for Wichita giving up a total one hit.
The five Wichita Wingnuts pitchers combined to shutout the Kansas City T-Bones 2 to 0 Thursday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Scols earned the victory and Dew picked up the save.
An RBI double from John Rodriguez scoring Jake Kahaulelio in the bottom of the first inning accounted for the only run of the game.
It was the seventh straight win for Wichita.
The same two teams will start a series in Kansas City Friday night.
