Wichita wins for sixth straight time


WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita Wingnuts won its sixth straight game for the first time this season with a 10 to 4 decision over the Kansas City T-Bones Wednesday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Jared McDonald collected three hits and three runs batted in from the ninth spot in the lineup. McDonald singled in the second and fourth inning and hit a two-run double in the sixth that widened the lead to 6 to 2.

Chris Smith gave up three earned runs in seven inning to get the win. Smith struck out five and walked three.

The teams conclude the Wichita half of the series Thursday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium before moving up Interstate 35 for games in Kansas City Friday and Saturday.
