Rock River Rapids has one millionth visitor

Rock River Rapids

DERBY, Kansas – The Rock River Rapids in Derby has been open for seven years, and Wednesday they welcomed a special visitor.

Little did Kristal Gadsen know that she would be the park’s one million person to walk through the gates.

She was there with her children and her nieces and says it was a shock.

“It’s, it’s fun! I like it. It was a nice little surprise for today.”

Kristal not only won lunch at the park, a cooler filled with prizes but a lifetime season pass. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
