Hundreds call non-emergency 911 number over holiday weekend

WICHITA, Kansas – Many Sedgwick County residents called the non-emergency 911 number over the 4th of July holiday.

Officials report there were 960 calls made to the special number.

That’s an increase of 211-percent over last year.

They also plan to have it operating on New Year’s Eve.
