Bicyclists ride through Kansas on cross country ride for disabilities

GARDEN CITY, Kansas – Members of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity stopped in Kansas on their coast to coast bike ride to raise money for people with disabilities.

The team stopped in Garden City on Monday for meals and a Friendship Visit.

The nine-week, 4,00-mile journey began in Seattle, Washington and will end in Washington, D.C.  on August 10.

Riders raised money through sponsorships and individual donations. This year, the group will raise more than $500,000 on behalf of people with disabilities, adding to the $15 million raised since the organization began in 1977. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
