Teen says girlfriend’s angry stepfather pistol-whipped him

WICHITA, Kansas — A Wichita man ended up in jail early Friday morning after allegedly pistol-whipping his stepdaughter’s teenage boyfriend.

Police say the 29-year-old man became upset when his 18-year-old stepdaughter didn’t return home at the designated time.

At 1:30 a.m., he went to get her from a home on Mt. Vernon Court, near Greenwich Road.

Police say the man got a handgun out of his trunk then beat up the 16-year-old boyfriend, punching him several times in the face and hitting him at least four times with the gun.

Officers say the man also threatened to kill the boyfriend.

The stepfather and his stepdaughter got in the car and left before officers arrived.

Sheriff’s deputies later found the 29-year-old suspect near Pawnee and Seneca. They arrested him and booked him into jail on suspicion of battery and criminal threats.

The teenage boyfriend was treated for his injuries.
