Police: Man used weed whacker to rob NM store

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Police are searching for a man they say used a weed whacker to rob a Las Cruces convenience store.

Investigators say the man posing as a landscaper walked into a Check ‘N Go store Saturday night and demanded money.

Police say the unidentified man, wearing a blue jump suit, gloves, a mask and a khaki fisherman’s bucket hat, then fled from the scene. According to police, the suspect was carrying a string trimmer, or weed-whacker, which he threatened to use as a weapon.

No arrests have been made.
