Young girl in serious condition after submersion in west Wichita pool

WICHITA, Kansas — A young girl was rushed to the hospital in serious condition after she was pulled from a swimming pool in west Wichita, officials said Saturday.

It happened at about 5:40 p.m. at a community swimming pool in the 600 block of South Fawnwood.

The 4-year-old girl was rushed to Wesley Medical center in serious condition.

No word yet on how or why the girl became submerged in the pool.
