Wichita sweeps Laredo


WICHITA, Kansas – – Colt Loehrs’ homer in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Wichita Wingnuts a 5 to 3 win over the Laredo Lemurs Wednesday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium

Wichita completed a three-game series sweep outscoring Laredo 35 to 11.

Loehrs took the pitch over the left field for his first home run this year. C.J. Ziegler also scored on the play.

Brent Clevlen hit a two-run home run in the second to start the scoring. Clevlen has seven homers in 11 games for the Wingnuts.

Josh Dew earned his seventh save this season for Wichita.

The Wingnuts have a day off Thursday before starting a weekend series against the Sioux City Explorers Friday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
