WICHITA, Kansas — Power has been restored to south Wichita after an outage.

The outage was due to a fire at a substation.

It happened about 2 p.m.

Westar says a squirrel got into equipment sparking the fire.

Crews worked for nearly an hour to get the power restored.

Westar says nearly 11,075 customers were affected.
