Pedestrian struck and killed trying to cross highway in Johnson County

Overland Park, Kansas — A boy was struck and killed by a pickup truck as he tried to cross a highway in Johnson County on Saturday, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

According to reports, Ezekial Crapo, of Lenexa, was trying to cross I-35 on foot, just south of 75th Street in Overland Park just after 9 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The age of the boy has not yet been released.

An investigation of the crash is ongoing.
