Oberlin man sentenced to prison for murder

OBERLIN, Kansas — Dylan Coryell was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder.

22-year-old Corey Cook died in October of 2011 after he was attacked and shot by Coryell.

He was charged in Cook’s death and an injury to another person.

Coryell was found guilty in March to second-degree murder and aggravated battery.

A Decatur County judge sentenced him to 212 months in prison for Cook’s death and 13 months for the aggravated battery.

Both will run concurrently.
