Bullet hits bed where infant was sleeping


WICHITA, Kansas — A shooting at an east Wichita apartment complex Saturday caused thousands of dollars in damage and came dangerously close to injuring a sleeping infant, according to Wichita Police.

It happened at about 4:50 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 8100 block of East Harry.

A witness told police that three men pulled up in a gray car, and that one of the men got out and began firing at her.

At least one bullet tore through an exterior window and struck a bed upon which a 9-month-old infant was sleeping.

No one was injured.

Police were able to track down the car and arrest a 19-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
