Infant killed in Sumner County rollover crash

SOUTH HAVEN, Kansas — An infant girl was killed, and her 6-year-old sister critically injured, after a rollover crash in Sumner County on Friday, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A 1994 Ford Explorer carrying a Texas family was headed northbound on Highway 177–about two miles south of South Haven–at about 3:15 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled, coming to rest on its roof.

Infant girl, Azura Rushing, who was not properly restrained according to reports, died at the scene.

Llella Rushing, 6, who was wearing seatbelt, was rushed to Via Christi on Saint Francis Hospital in Wichita with critical injuries.

The driver suffered only minor injuries.
