Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall makes stop in Hutchinson

Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall

HUTCHINSON, Kansas– A traveling replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall is at the Hutchinson VFW Headquarters through Sunday, June 16th.

The wall lists the names of those who died in the war, allowing other veterans to remember their fallen comrades.

“Marlin’s right there,” said Tom Luft of Bucklin, Kansas, as he pointed to a name on the wall.  “Friend of mine. My school mate. Grew up together from my hometown. The only one we lost from my hometown.”

Uft is an Army veteran who says he’s visited the traveling memorial 15 times over the years.

A special ceremony at the VFW is set for Sunday, before the wall is dismantled and moved to its next location.
