WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita Festivals Inc. says this year’s Riverfest was a success.

While complete sales and cost numbers continue to be compiled, Wichita Festivals, Inc., reported today that total attendance for the nine-day event was approximately 360,000 up 30 percent from 2012.

The big increase was on-site button sales.

They sold about 30,000 more than double than last year.

“We did a lot of listening and learning in these past few months,” said Wichita Festivals, Inc. President and CEO Mary Beth Jarvis. “We worked to plan a festival that was responsive to the community’s voice, and would be fun and engaging for people of all ages across our area. We’re pleased with the early numbers that are in and we have been delighted to hear from festivalgoers who liked the variety of music, food and family activities and had a great time at Riverfest 2013.”
