LEWISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) – A 74-year old Lewisburg, Ohio woman was killed Tuesday evening after she was run over by a Bush Hog mower.

Investigators say the woman suffers from dementia. She was disoriented and wandering in her yard when she fell in some tall grass.

Her husband was clearing tall grass about five feet high. He did not see her and ran over her.

She was pronounced dead on the scene.

“That’s devastating. He was really devoted to her. They were together all the time. He just really took care of her,” said Dan Kessler, neighbor.

Neighbors say the two were high school sweethearts and served in the Peace Corps together.

The victim’s body was removed to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for a routine autopsy. Her name has not been released.
