ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (KOB) – An Albuquerque, New Mexico woman is recovering after being badly beaten and tossed off of a bridge.

It all began Tuesday morning at a northeast Albuquerque apartment.

Police said 26-year-old Martin Montano kidnapped a man and woman and stuffed them in the trunk of his car.

He then drove to the bridge and pushed one woman into the Rio Grande.

The other kidnapped man was found on top of the bridge.

Both victims suffered severe injuries but are recovering at an Albuquerque hospital.

Police said witnesses who saw it all happen helped them find Montano.

Police don’t know how Montano knew the victims, but they do believe they three were acquaintances.

Police expect to file charges soon.
