DA: No charges will be filed against former Shocker player accused of sexual assault

Wichita State Basketball

WICHITA, Kansas — The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office says it will not file charges against a former Wichita State basketball player accused of sexual assault.

A 20-year-old woman filed the report in April saying she’d fallen asleep during a get-together at the home of a current WSU basketball player, and she woke up as the alleged crime happened.

She was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

The district attorney says after reviewing the facts of the case, the applicable law and discussing the matter with the reporting party and her family, the decision was made to not file charges at this time.
