LOS ANGELES (AP) – Adam Levine wants you to know he was just joking when he muttered “I hate this country” after America voted off two of his singers on “The Voice.”

He’s been blasted on Twitter. Some want him fired, others hope he’s deported.

Levine responded by tweeting definitions of the words “joke” and “humorless.”

Levine has one singer left on his team, as does Shakira and Usher.

Blake still has three.
