Wichita goes nuts on Amarillo


WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita Wingnuts beat the Amarillo Sox 10 to 4 Tuesday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

The Nuts jumped to an early 3 to nothing lead in the first inning. Stephen Yoo’s two-run line drive single scored C.J. Ziegler and Derek Perren.

Wichita tallied three more times in the eighth with a single from Jake Kahauelio and a tw0-run hit by Perren.

Christopher M. Smith (2-0) was the winning pitcher allowing four runs, with two strikeouts and three walks in 6 2/3 innings on the mound.

The same two teams meet Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
