KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KSHB) — A Memorial Day thunderstorm flooded roads in the Kansas City area.
Some drivers who tried to cross the water-logged roads ended up stranded.
“I learned my lesson, I’ll never do this again,” said Diane Hayes. “In fact my husband took a picture with his cell phone and I’m going to tell my grown daughters don’t ever go through high water. If you think you can make it through, don’t attempt it.”
Officials have closed several roads.
The storm has also caused some power outages. At one point, more than 5,000 customers were without power in the Kansas City area.
