WICHITA, Kansas – – John Rodriguez homer to lead the Wichita Wingnuts to a 10 to 5 victory over the New Jersey Jackals Friday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Rodriguez long ball came in the third off New Jersey starter and losing pitcher Craig Bennigson. It was the first home run this season for Rodriguez. He also singled in the fifth going 2-for-5 at the plate including three runs scored and three runs batted in.

Wingnuts starter Junior Guerra struck out eight en route to his second win this season. Guerra scattered nine hits over seven innings pitched. Guerra gave up no walks and only one earned run on the mound.

The same two teams battle Saturday night at Lawrence-Dumont with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
