Police make two arrests in connection to a string of robberies

WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police have arrested two men they believe are responsible for a recent string of robberies.

It happened in the 700 block of South Sylvan Lane when officers were watching a home.

Detectives observed a green Pontiac pull up to the home.

The car drove off, and detectives followed the car.

“In 4800 block of East Harry, marked units stopped vehicle and took individual into custody,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

While detectives were following him, more officers were sent to the house on Sylvan.

Officers contacted another man inside who came out of the home, took an object and tried to slash his wrist.

He was taken to the hospital and released to detectives.

“We believe at this point that these two individuals are responsible for between eight and 10 robberies that have occurred in the last couple of weeks including the ones earlier this week,” said Nolte.

In addition to the robberies, both were on parole, and they were arrested for parole violations.
