WICHITA, Kansas — Kansans continue to offer help to the victims of the Moore, Oklahoma tornado.
Thursday, volunteers at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church started accepting donations for the Stuff the Truck Part II effort.
Students helped load bags and boxes of food, toiletries and water needed by residents of Moore.
“Our kids are taught this all year long and we thought what a great way to spend the last day of school is putting it to good use and ending the year with a bang,” said Andra Puckett, organizer.
The students helped with a collection in December and gave the largest single donation to the Operation Holiday program.
“The kids came through that time and I’m sure they could do it again,” said Father Daniel Duling. “And as you can see they’re doing it again. It’s great to be able to challenge them and to help them to practice out their stewardship and living out Jesus Christ in their lives and challenging them to do that and they respond every time we do.”
The trailer will be taken to Moore by the Clean Tech company which has permission to get into the devastated area.
