Shockers shutout Salukis in run rule game

NORMAL, Illinois – – Garrett Brummett struck out a career high  seven en route to a shutout as the Wichita State Shockers remained alive in the Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament.

Wichita State defeated Southern Illinois 15 to nothing in a game shortened to seven innings by the 10 run lead rule.

Brummett pitched the first five with Zach Beringer throwing the final two for the Shockers.

Mikel Mucha stroked his first homer of his career going 3-for-4 in the game with four runs batted in. Johnny Coy was a perfect 3-for-3 knocking in three runs. Garrett Bayliff also had three RBI in a 3-for-4 day at the plate.
