Shockers keep winning at post-season tournament

NORMAL, Illinois – – Kris Gardner threw a complete game shutout as the Wichita State Shockers advanced in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a 5 to nothing win over the Indiana State Sycamores.

WSU gave Indiana State its first loss of the tournament setting up a Friday rematch with the Sycamores to see which team will advance to the championship game Saturday.

Gardner gave up seven hits with no walks. Gardner struck out three.

Tyler Baker went 2-to-3 with two runs batted in with two doubles. Casey Gillaspie added an RBI in a 2-to-4 performance at the plate including a double.

First pitch on Friday will be 12:30 p.m.
