Wichita teacher arrested for carrying gun to school

WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police say a 31-year-old teacher was arrested after carrying a gun to White Elementary.

It happened 12:30 Monday afternoon in the 5100 block of S. Kansas.

Police say another teacher called 911 after reporting seeing a teacher with a gun.

“Officers did go out there and arrested the teacher on misdemeanor carry concealed weapons charges,” said Lt. Randy Reynolds.

Police say you cannot carry a gun because schools are drug-free and gun-free zones.

The teacher was booked for carrying a concealed firearm.
