Wingnuts begin regular season with victory over Kansas City

WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita Wingnuts shutout the Kansas City T-Bones Wednesday night in the American Association regular season opener for both teams.

Starting pitcher Jon Link had four strikeouts and did not allow a walk in seven innings for the Wingnuts.

The Wingnuts offense put together 14 hits including four from second baseman Jake Kahaulelio. Kahaulelio smashed a three-run double in the bottom of the fourth.  Kahaulelio along Chris Ziegler hits home runs.

Shaun Garceau picked up the loss for Kansas City.

The two teams conclude the series Friday night with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
