Shockers win first game of series

WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita State Shockers beat Northwestern 8 to 2 to open the final regular season series Thursday night at Eck Stadium.

The Shocker lineup produced four players with more than one hit in the game. Garrett Bayliff captured four hits in five trips to the plate. Bayliff drove in three runs. Micah Green went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Tanner Dearman had a 3-for-5 performance in the leadoff spot.

Wichita State plated two runs in the third, one more in the fourth and fifth frames.

Starter Cale Elam pitched five innings, giving up three hits with two runs and four strikeout en route to his sixth win this year.
