Shockers drop game to nationally ranked Cowboys

WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita State Shockers gave up seven runs in the final three innings in a 7 to 2 loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys Tuesday night at Eck Stadium.

Sophomore Kris Gardner (2-6) took the WSU loss, despite holding OSU scoreless in the first six frames. Gardner allowed two runs, one earned, three hits, three walks and three strikeouts.

Tanner Dearman triple and scored on Garrett Bayliff singled to give the Shockers a 1 to 0 in the sixth inning.

The Cowboys plated four run in the seventh and added three more scores in the eighth inning.

Casey Gillaspie first homer in 32 games in the ninth closed out the scoring .

The Shockers end the regular season with a three game series against Northwestern starting Thursday night in Eck Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
