Salina man sentenced to 78 months on drug, gun charges

TOPEKA, Kansas – A Salina man has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

Chris Alan Martin, 46, Salina, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

After investigators arranged to buy methamphetamine from Martin, the I-70 Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant for his residence in Salina.

Investigators seized methamphetamine and three handguns. Martin was prohibited by federal law from possessing a firearm following a 2008 felony conviction for possession of methamphetamine.
