WICHITA, Kansas — A special dedication was held at Sim Park on Friday.

It was to honor the late Auggie Navarro.

A long-time golf pro at Sim, Navarro died last year and Friday his family and friends dedicated a pergola in his memory.

It is the same course where in 1982 Navarro shot a U.S. record low score of 57.

Also as a part of the dedication, a golf tournament was held that raises money to pay for scholarships for junior golfers in Auggie Navarro’s name.
