SALINA, Kansas — A man accused of killing a Salina woman who had been missing for two weeks was formally charged Monday.

Twenty-four-year-old Joel Heil appeared in court by video camera from the jail.

He was charged with first-degree murder for the death of 27-year-old Kristin Tyler, a mother of four who disappeared April 25.

Her body was found Thursday in a ravine near the junction of I-70 and I-135.

Investigators have not released a possible motive for her murder.
