SALINA, Kansas — The Saline County Sheriff’s Department says a 2008 Chevy Malibu is probably a total loss after being carried away by rushing water late Wednesday into early Thursday.

The car was found in four feet of water in Mulberry Creek on Saturday.

Emily Hensley, the owner, told deputies she was on her way to visit friends when her car got stuck in the mud.

In the morning, the car was gone.

Deputies located the car nearly a mile away from the home.
