WICHITA, Kansas — A woman was critically injured in a rollover crash south of Cheney, police said Sunday.

The 18-year-old victim was driving towards Cheney near 47th Street South in the 5300 block of South 375th Street West at about 7 p.m. when she hit a cement barrier and rolled off the road into a ditch.

Police say she was traveling too fast to navigate a curve, causing the crash.

When emergency personnel arrived, the victim was unconscious with critical injuries. But she was stabilized and her condition improved slightly before she was rushed to the hospital.
