WICHITA, Kansas — The annual Twilight Tour fundraiser at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Wichita was also a going away party this year.
The park has been home to animals displaced by flooding in 2011 at the Roosevelt Park Zoo in Minot, North Dakota.
The last of those animals are heading home, so in addition to raising money for Tanganyika, fundraiser attendees had a chance to say goodbye to two lions, a tiger, two giraffes, and two zebras that will be heading back to North Dakota.
The Twilight Tour included wine, beer, and food sampling, as well as free interactive animal feeding experiences and access to behind-the-scenes animal areas.
Art by some of the park’s animals was auctioned off as part of the fundraiser.
