Shockers drop one run game to Creighton

WICHITA, Kansas – – Two Wichita State errors led to four unearned runs for Creighton as the Bluejays held off a ninth inning rally in a 6 to 5 win over the Shockers Friday night at Eck Stadium.

Creighton wiped out a 2 to nothing Wichita State in the top of the fifth erupting for four runs on just two hits. Erik Harbutz misplayed a groundball that kept the inning alive to allow two unearned runs to cross the plate.

In the sixth inning, the Bluejays scored a pair of unearned runs following a throwing error by second baseman Tanner Dearman.

The Shockers rallied to score two runs in the ninth inning before Casey Gillaspie fly ball to centerfield ended the game.

The teams continue the three game series Saturday at 2 p.m. followed by finale Sunday at 1 p.m.
