Thunder drop game 5 to Allen

Allen, TX – – The Wichita Thunder hockey team is one game away from elimination in the Central Hockey League finals after a 5 to 1 defeat to the Allen Americans Tuesday night.

Wichita took a 1 to nothing lead when Andrew Martens’ wrist shot lit the lamp with 10:57 to go in the first period.

In the second stanza Allen scored three times in less than seven minutes to take control of the contest and give the Americans a 3 games to 1 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Game six will take place Friday night inside the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita. Faceoff will be 7:05 p.m.

If the Thunder force game seven it would be set for Saturday night in Allen.
