Police say two business robberies are possibly connected

WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police say two robberies that occurred Monday night are possibly connected.

The first happened around 6:25 when a man walked into the Harry Grocery and Smoke Shop at 324 West Harry.

The suspect confronted the clerk with a gun and stated he wanted money from the register.

The clerk was scared and decided to run to the backroom.

He left the store empty handed.

About 20 minutes later, police responded to TP’s Smoke Shop in the 1700 block South Seneca.

The victim tells police a man pointed a gun at her head and demanded money from the register.

She gave him the cash, and he left the store.

Police say the man in both robberies is described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a navy blue hoodie.

He was wearing a red shirt and had a dark bandana.
