WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police say they’ve arrested two brothers for the shooting death of a man in January.

Those arrested include 19-year-old Jerone Brown and 20-year-old Shawn Brown.

Adji Tampone, 29, was found dead at his home in the 700 block of South Rutan early in the morning of January 3.

His friends hadn’t seen him since New Year’s eve and went to check on him.

His friends looked through a window at his house and saw Tampone on the floor inside.

He had been shot once, but officials at the time didn’t know how long he had been dead.

His car was found abandoned late on January 3, but no arrests were made until recently.

Lieutenant Todd Ojile of the Wichita Police Department told KSN that the two brothers were charged Thursday but had actually been in jail since January on unrelated charges.

A preliminary hearing for the brothers is set for is set for May 16.

Their bond has been set at $250,000 each.
