NASHUA, New Hampshire (WHDH) — Three landscapers rescued a New Hampshire woman who was trapped in a car that was on fire, which likely saved the woman’s life.

“We were setting stone, working on a patio and heard a big bang,” said Dave, who helped rescue the woman.

The three men knew something was wrong and raced to the front of a home. A minivan had crashed into a tree and flames had ignited the vehicle.

“She was in pain. She was calling for help. So, Dave and Jose pulled her out of the vehicle,” said Josh Parker, who helped rescue the woman.

Their quick actions saved her life.

“Even before the fire department got there the whole car was engulfed. It was pretty intense,” said Dave.

Josh ran to grab a fire extinguisher, but it would be of no use.

“There wasn’t much we could to with the small fire extinguishers we have,” said Parker.

The men were frantic because they had spotted a car seat in the minivan.

“Josh checked out the back of the car, whipped open the side doors, to make sure it was clear,” said Dave.

The woman was alone in the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital. The woman’s family has already thanked her rescuers.

“They said she had a fractured hip and possibly had done something to her spleen,” said Parker.

Dave and Josh have returned to work. Their boss couldn’t be more proud.

“We’re landscapers and stone masons,” said Derek Munroe of Water’s Edge Landscaping. “We all get hurt constantly with what we do so it’s like second nature when someone gets hurt, jump into action.”
